Manchester Airport (MAN)
Airport Hotels and Accommodation
(Manchester, Greater Manchester, England, UK)
Situated on the outskirts of Manchester and on the north-westerly side of England, Manchester International Airport (MAN) is one of Britain's main airports, providing air travel to a large number of northerly towns. As a busy hub handling literally millions of passengers each year, Manchester Airport is supported by a good network of airport hotels, which provide accommodation to the large number of passengers and travellers.
Many of these hotels tend to cater for business travellers and therefore are always offering some kind of deal, with room rates frequently fluctuating greatly. However, in general, accommodation in Manchester does tend to be at its cheapest during weekends, when the businessmen have left the city and their rooms are therefore empty. Do bear in mind though that if Manchester United are ever playing a football match at home (anytime between August and May), hotels soon fill up and available rooms become scarce, if not impossible to find.
Manchester: Airport Hotels and Accommodation
The hotels situated around Manchester International Airport offer comprehensive business facilities, with the nearby Crowne Plaza housing a dedicated business services centre. Also located alongside the grounds, both the Hilton and Radisson hotels provide reasonably priced rooms and good amenities, being just a short distance from the three terminals.

Manchester: City Hotels and Accommodation
The most popular hotels can be found in and around the city centre, which is situated approximately 16 km / 10 miles to the north of Manchester International Airport (MAN). In general, the hotels closest to the city centre tend to be more expensive that those outside, offering the advantage of being within walking distance of major sights, such as the Manchester Art Gallery, the Urbis museum, John Rylands Library and the Museum of Science and Technology. Shops and restaurants are also never far away from hotels in central Manchester.
Those looking to stay in the city on a budget will find a range of value accommodation and cheap lodging, including the YHA hostel on Potato Wharf, the Backpackers' Hostel along Cromwell Road, and a number of affordable B&Bs on Liverpool Road. Also worth bearing in mind, the University of Manchester (UMIST) features seasonal, cheap accommodation during the academic holidays, at both St. Anselm's Hall on Kent Road, and Woolaton Hall on Whitworth Lane.
More mainstream accommodation in central Manchester comes in the form of mid-range hotels, with popular establishments including the Ibis Hotel along Portland Street, and the Crowne Plaza Midland Hotel on Peter Street, close to the G-Mex Exhibition Centre. Also worth mentioning, the Rembrandt Hotel can be found on Sackville Street and is situated within the heart of Manchester's vibrant gay village. For luxury accommodation in the city, be sure to consider the Britannia on Portland Street, a noteworthy four-star hotel which was once a busy cotton warehouse.
